Many people in  our country ignore both history and doctrines of  protestantism, or - for exampe - don't know that the Evangelical Waldesian Church - in Italy for 8 centuries - is the most ancient protestant church all over the world, or that evangelism played a very important role in italian Risorgimento

Evangelism has a great variety of  different ideas and opinions. Anyway, some basic beliefs can be identified:

1. "Salvation" (or reconciliation with God) by grace through the faith. This does mean that we're reconciliated with God through His initiative, no morality or religion is necessary to be worthy of such salvation.

2. The Holy Bible is the only source of authority for the Christian life and doctrine.

3. Christian life is founded on freedom and responsability.

4. The church is the gathering of all believers: a community where equal persons recognize the gifts distributed to each others from the Holy Spirit.
